Benin parliament rejects motion to fast-track constitutional review process. The Parliament of Benin will use the normal review process to consider dozens of constitutional amendments put forth by President Patrice Talon after rejecting Talon’s request to fast-track the legislation. The proposed amendments include provisions that would limit the president to one term, establish a Court of Auditors, publicly fund political parties, and promote women's participation in politics.

Gaza rejects Palestinian constitutional court. The Gaza Strip Administrative Court has overturned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to establish a Palestinian Supreme Constitutional Court, arguing that Abbas did not have the authority to create the court because his presidential term expired in 2009. Hamas, the governing authority of the Gaza Strip, has criticized Abbas for appointing only supporters of his own Fatah party to the court.

Tunisian marriage law under fire. A coalition of Tunisian interest groups is calling for repeal of a decree that bans Muslim women from marrying non-Muslim men. The groups argue that the ban is an unconstitutional form of gender discrimination, as Muslim men are not bound by similar restrictions.
