The Constituent Assembly has given the drafting committee 15 days to prepare a draft of the new constitution.

Ruling party of Myanmar submits bill to amend constitution. Myanmar's ruling Union party submitted a constitutional amendment bill to Parliament on Wednesday that would lower the number of parliamentary votes required to amend the constitution and alter eligibility requirements for the presidency. The bill results from growing frustration within parliament over the lack of cooperation from the military MPs, who hold a quarter of the seats.
