National Constitution Center
Bringing constitutional knowledge to the public through interactive exhibitions and collaborative spaces
The Constitute Exhibition
In early 2015, the CCP worked with the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to unveil a hands-on exhibition featuring Constitute. Created in 1988, the NCC is a non-partisan institution across from Independence Hall in Philadelphia that is dedicated to the U.S. Constitution. The Constitute exhibition allows museum visitors to view the U.S. Constitution and other national constitutions in comparative perspective. Visitors can explore Constitute on tablets located in the exhibition or, for a guided experience, they can follow the instructions provided at each station.
Google Drafting Lab
The NCC opened a physical collaboration space where school groups and other visitors can research and discuss constitutional ideas. Co-sponsored by Google Ideas, the Google Drafting Lab is equipped with the latest collaborative technologies, allowing participants to work together to draft constitutional content using Google Docs. The lab opened in 2015 as a space for citizens and drafters to explore and evaluate the process of constitutional design. Watch this video created by Google Docs to see the Drafting Lab in action!
28th Amendment Project

The 28th Amendment Project is an interactive activity hosted at the National Constitution Center’s Google Drafting Lab. In the 28th Amendment Project, citizens participate in a brief exercise in which they engage in each stage of constitutional drafting: research, deliberation, and decision-making.
The participants’ assigned objective is to identify promising constitutional amendment ideas using Constitute. Through the exercise, many participants develop a deeper understanding of their constitution and the views of their fellow citizens.
