Ukraine President seeks to retain unitary state. Speaking at the first meeting of the constitutional commission, Ukraine President Poroshenko denounced federalization and asserted that he is willing to hold a referendum to uphold the country's unitary structure. Russia endorses federalization to grant greater autonomy to pro-Russia regions of Ukraine, as called for in the Minsk Agreements.
Tanzania postpones constitutional referendum. Tanzania delayed the constitutional referendum scheduled for April 30 due to lack of voter access in Tanzania's 35 electoral districts. These delays may impact Tanzania's upcoming presidential and general elections in October.
